Central Helicopters has moved to its new, purpose-built premises located on an eleven acre site in Widmerpool, Nottinghamshire on the A46 linking Leicester, Nottingham and Newark.
The business, which was established in 2005, was previously based from portacabins at Nottingham City Airport, Tollerton but it became necessary to find new premises in order to expand the business and broaden its facilities.
As well as offering charter flights, helicopter flying and pilot training up to commercial level, the business also provides fuel on-site and hangarage for other helicopter owners.
Bosses say the new premises will allow the company to extend its offering by providing meeting , training and networking facilities with rooms which can accommodate up to 50 people.
Director, Marilyn Briggs said: “Having grown the business steadily for the last decade, we reached the point where we needed to search for larger premises. The opportunity to purchase the Widmerpool site arose and offered us everything we needed in terms of having a purpose-built hangar, offices and training rooms to broaden our offering to clients.”
Funding for the development of the building was provided by the directors with assistance from Barclays. Justin Parker, business manager at Barclays in Nottingham said: “The company identified the need to move to a new site to accommodate future business growth. This also provided an opportunity to diversify into meeting, training and networking management which will further support the company’s growth plans.”
